1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: your display name when joining sessions, email address if you subscribe to game notifications, and donation contributor name if provided. We also collect usage data including session participation, chat messages, and game board activity.
2. Dungeon Master Accounts
DM accounts store your name, email address, and hashed password. Passwords are stored using industry-standard cryptographic hashing and are never stored in plain text. We also store your PayPal email address if provided for revenue sharing purposes.
3. Donations
Donation payments are processed by PayPal. We store the contributor name (if provided), donation amount, date, and mana tier. Payment card details are never stored on our servers — all payment processing is handled entirely by PayPal.
4. AI Tool Usage
When using AI tools (The Diviner), your prompts are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. We do not permanently store your prompts or AI-generated content beyond the active session. Please review OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.
5. Chat Messages
Session chat messages are stored temporarily to enable real-time community communication. Chat history may be cleared periodically by platform administrators.
6. Cookies
We use secure HTTP-only cookies to maintain authentication sessions for Dungeon Masters, Moderators, and Administrators. These cookies expire after 30 days. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
7. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to: operate and improve the platform, enable community features, process donations, send session notifications (where you have opted in), and maintain platform security.
8. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the platform (PayPal for payments, OpenAI for AI features, Brevo for email delivery). We may disclose information if required by law.
9. Data Retention
Account information is retained while your account is active. Donation records are retained for accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting platform administrators.
10. Security
We implement reasonable security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password for your DM account.
11. Children's Privacy
The Realm Gate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
